5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) (National Geographic Kids) Review

Hello parents and grandparents!  Welcome to my 5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) (National Geographic Kids) Review; a quick-reference guide full of colorfully illustrated fun facts that your son(s) or grandson(s) would love, and one of my fact books for boys.

If you have never visited my site, then you should know that I have a son; and for all of you parents and grandparents out there who are continuously challenged as I am, we do what we can to accommodate for our sons and grandsons development and enjoyment.  You should also know that I never review a product that I would not purchase myself on behalf of my son.  I have read the reviews from customers who have read this book so that I may better help you to make the right decision.

Knowledge is power! This fun fact book is the first in a series of three that will attract your sons or grandsons attention the moment they see it, and they will be hooked!

Quick Overview:

  • The Good: Great Book!
  • The Bad: Upside down pages

My Overall Take: Look no further if you’re are looking for good books for raising boys, this National Geographic guide would delight any boy!  This book is jam-packed with countless categories and fun fact-filled pages of topics, using colorful pictures – who could resist that?

The Good:

The fact that this book is packed with information that pertains to a wide variety of categories hosting many short topics on colorfully illustrated pages might have something to do with the reason that this book is loved by boys and recommended by parents and grandparents.  Furthermore, this book is totally dedicated to showing our sons and grandsons the facts, and just the facts, lots of them without a detailed explanation which nicely appeals to their short attention span and can fill a gap of 5 minutes or two hours…  This picturesque guide would also make a wonderful gift for your son(s) or grandson(s), as it is a crowd pleaser...

The Bad:

All three of the books in this series do share one similarity with one another in that the font size may be too small for younger boys of 8 or 9 years old, which could be a problem for some. Aside from that, it was challenging to find bad comments about this book, although “one” person did receive a book where the pages were printed upside down.

Things to Know:

This book covers many categories and topics, some of which you parents or grandparents may consider inappropriate for your son(s) or grandson(s) such as haunted houses, ouija boards, necromancy, palm reading, tarot cards, and perhaps some others…
Although this book is filled with many fun facts and knowledge on each page, it does not go into lengthy in-depth details, but rather presents short answers; a whole books worth to these and other subjects as well:
    1. Chocolate
    2. Game Tips
    3. History’s Mysteries
    4. Peanut Butter
    5. Reptiles
    6. Robots
    7. Sharks
    8. Spies
    9. Sports
    10. Toy Tips
    11. Wacky Words

    The Good:

    • Loved by boys
    • Recommended by parents and grandparents
    • Great fact book
    • Great gift for your son(s) or grandson(s)

    The Bad:

    • Small fonts
    • Upside down pages

    My Overall Take:

5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) (National Geographic Kids) is definitely on the top of my list of good books for raising boys, as it is appealing to boys through its use of great colorful illustrations and short easy-reading facts; this is the type of book that your son(s) or grandson(s) will be able to access a huge assortment of categories with topics that are quickly read, so it can be picked up or put down quickly without missing a beat.
